Parable of the Wheat and the Tares -- How is Wickedness increasing?

We know from the parable of the wheat and the tares that wickedness is increasing in the world.  This has also been confirmed by many prophets and apostles.  But what exactly does that mean?  How is the world becoming more wicked?

There are two ways that this is happening:  1) Wickedness is becoming more widespread among the people, and 2) Wickedness is increasing in depravity, in how many people are being harmed or killed, in the lies that are told, and in how much money is being stolen.

The most wicked are in secret combinations and as they seek to take over the world, everyone will be forced to join them or fight against them.  That, of course, brings the battle between the righteous and the wicked to a point.  God's kingdom on earth, will not bow to the kingdom of the devil on the earth -- meaning that the Lord's church will not bow to the wicked.  The secret combinations will surely try to make them bow down to them.  This brings into sharp focus Pres. Nelson's promise that the Lord's power will be shown to an unprecedented level in the last days and it will be to protect the righteous.  Nephi said so (see 1 Nephi 22: 13-25) -- the Lord will preserve the righteous even if he must destroy the wicked by fire.  

There is precedence for the righteous to use the word of God to fight the wicked.  Enoch moved mountains, changed the course of rivers, etc. to destroy his enemies so that all the nations of the wicked feared him greatly (see Moses 7: 13).  How else will the armies of the Lord become terrible in the eyes of the nations (see D&C 64: 43 and 45: 70 and 97: 18).

The great and abominable church (secret combinations that rule the earth in the last days) will war among themselves and the wicked who dug a pit for the righteous to fall into will fall in it themselves (see 1 Nephi 14: 3).  I think that means they will seek to destroy the righteous but shall end up destroying each other in war as they try to rally the world against the righteous holdouts.  This will be after the people who won't take up arms will flee to Zion for safety (the righteous will gather together for safety -- not just members of the church.  The Lord will remember the good people of the earth to protect them, too).  This will be after the government tries to make everyone use the chip implants or other technology to control us.  Whitney Webb has already warned everyone about that in her books and YouTube videos, but the wicked seem to have too much control already.  The few righteous in positions of power seem to be losing the battle.
